After
the International Year of Disabled Person
in 1981, lots of institutions sprang up like
so many weeds after a rain for the purpose
of educating and training the disabled person
who had lived under the indifference and unkind
treatment for a long time. So, there was a
need to make an institution specialized in
providing differentiated rehabilitation skills
and cultivating rehabilitation experts.
Accordingly,
the Korea Rehabilitation Fund was established
on 1989 to conduct various research, study,
PR, and training activities, coordinate lots
of rehabilitation projects, provide support
to such projects, promote international exchanges,
share useful information among local organizations,
and ultimately contribute to specialization
of local rehabilitation services and extension
of welfare services for the disabled person. |
